Jason & Dawn

We are the proud parents of nine adopted children. We have personal experience walking the road of domestic, special needs, and international adoption, as well as adopting through foster care in two different states. Two of our children came to us when we ourselves were clients of Christian Adoption Consultants. In 2012 we joined the CAC team, and are excited to now be Senior Adoption Consultants, having walked alongside more than 200 families on their adoption journey!

We have really enjoyed working together as a couple in ministry over the years, which makes us well suited as a husband and wife consultant team! We are so fortunate to have a job we love, while benefiting from the flexibility to work at home and care for our family. Having been greatly blessed as a family through adoption, it couldn’t be any more of a blessing than to encourage other families on their own adoption journey!

Dawn

My adoption journey began when I was just 8 years old, when I needed to undergo a total hysterectomy because of cancer. I knew then, at a young age that God would bless me as a mother through adoption. He truly made a miracle out of tragedy! My consulting gifts are: walking our clients through the entire adoption process, from initial inquiry through placement; ongoing communication with our clients on the phone, via text and email; sharing adoption "situations" with our clients, guiding and supporting them through the process; taking care of administration behind the scenes; praying with and for our families, and encouraging them throughout the journey. It gives me such joy to see families come together through adoption - I have my dream job!

Holding an adoption miracle!
Jason

I was born and raised in England, and came to the United States in 1996 to work at church camp, where I met Dawn. We were married the following year. I never really gave adoption much thought prior to that, but I was confident that He would bless us through adoption in His timing, and He did bless us with 9 amazing children! My consulting gifts are: preparing clients' paperwork; behind the scenes administration and technology support; as well as encouraging our clients and praying for them in the adoption process. Our own continuing adoption journey as a family is full of joys and challenges. Through the years I am more confident than ever that "...He who began a good work in me is faithful to complete it, until the day of Christ Jesus." (Philippians 1:6)

Our Family

4 years after we were married, while living in Iowa, we were led to foster care through friends, and within 3 years we adopted a sibling group of 3 children. When we moved to Louisiana in 2004 we started the foster care journey again, intending to help children out temporarily, but God had other plans. After fostering another sibling group of 3 children over 3 more years we finalized their adoptions in 2008.

Around that time our hearts were opened to the international need for adoption and we were drawn to Ethiopia. We were matched with a little girl with special needs, named Hannah Grace, who would go on to meet Jesus a week before her Ethiopian adoption was finalized. After taking a needed time of grieving we accepted a new referral for our son, and traveled to bring him home early in 2009. We started the international adoption process again a year later, but this time had issues with USCIS that became complicated and would not allow us to bring home our next daughter we had already been matched with for the prior 6 months. After grieving yet again we cried out to God and asked Him if we were ever meant to adopt again.

Within two months in 2010 we found Christian Adoption Consultants through a friend's blog. We never dreamed it was possible for a larger family to ever adopt domestically! Within a week of signing on with CAC our daughter was in our arms and legally ours! That blew us away! After moving to Florida in 2011 and getting a little settled, CAC opened the special needs program and our consultant asked us if we were interested. "Yes!" was our reply. Within a few months of signing on we were bringing home our youngest son in February of 2012.
